Essence is the fundamental reality of what something is beneath every name, form, role, condition, and temporary appearance. It is not what something looks like, what it possesses, or even what it is presently expressing. Essence is its deepest and most unchanging nature.
The Divine Essence is Infinite Consciousness, Love, Intelligence, Benevolence, Power, and Light. These are not separate qualities that God possesses. They are what God is.
Because the individual comes from the Infinite, the individual does not merely receive or reflect this Essence. The individual is this same Divine Essence made personal, focused, concrete, and capable of conscious experience.
The forms are different, but the Essence is one.
Each person has a different body, personality, history, perspective, and way of expressing life. Yet beneath those differences is the same living Reality. Just as one light can shine through many uniquely colored windows, the expression changes according to the individual, but the Light itself remains one.
Your essence is therefore not your occupation, age, appearance, past, emotions, mistakes, accomplishments, or circumstances. These belong to your human experience, but they do not define the Reality of your being.
Your essence is the Infinite Source individualized as you, personal, focused, unique, and capable of continual expansion.
You are Love that is compassionate, nurturing, accepting, healing, and shared through personal experience.
You are Intelligence that is wise, creative, intuitive, discerning, and expressed through understanding and conscious thought.
You are Benevolence that is kind, generous, caring, encouraging, inspiring, and expressed through supporting and uplifting those closest to you.
You are Power that is strong, sovereign, purposeful, creative, and expressed through freedom, choice, action, and creation.
You are Light that is radiant, illuminating, awakening, clarifying, and expressed through conscious awareness.
You are Infinite Potential that is limitless, expansive, creative, ever-evolving, and continually becoming actual experience.
This is why growth does not mean becoming more Divine. It means becoming increasingly conscious of the Divinity you already are, the Divine Essence that has always been the foundation of your being. Growth is the process of allowing your true nature to express itself more completely through your human life.
Essence is what you are eternally. Expression is how that Essence appears through you at any particular moment. Expression can be limited, confused, or undeveloped, but the Essence itself remains whole, pure, and complete.
You are not a separate being attempting to reach the Infinite. You are the Infinite made individual, awakening to what you have always been.
